Alpha Source Group Names President

Alpha Source Group, a collective of three premier service companies including Alpha Source, Medical Optics, and BC Technical, has promoted Rich Springer to president, effective immediately. In his new role, Springer is charged with leading the Alpha Source Group of companies through a period of strategic growth and evolution.
 
Since 2016, Springer served as chief operating officer for Alpha Source, leading strategic initiatives across service and operations. This included integrating and expanding Medical Optics, forming a consolidated national service arm following the BC Technical acquisition and scaling the company’s outsourced depot solutions capabilities, which provide full-scale original equipment manufacturer (OEM) product maintenance, service, repair and logistics.
 
Richard Neff, operating partner at Baird Capital, the private equity owner of the Alpha Source Group of companies, said, “Rich has a reputation as an insightful, strategic leader. He has been instrumental in strengthening and growing the Alpha Source business and he is the perfect person to lead the company into the future.”
 
Baird Capital acquired Alpha Source in 2015 with the intention of building a diverse medical device service, repair, parts distribution and solution business. Since then, the company has made four additional strategic acquisitions, now operating under the Alpha Source Group brand. Together, the group offers a scope of repair solutions, and its national scale and technical expertise across the portfolio allows its teams to quickly and effectively service OEMs, independent service organizations (ISOs) and health care systems.

In previous positions, Springer led service operations at both domestic and international companies, including Crothall Healthcare; Elekta Inc.; TomoTherapy (now Accuracy Inc.); Camtronics Medical Systems Ltd. (now Merge Healthcare); Cymer Inc.; and GE Corporation/GE Healthcare.
 
Alpha Source Group provides solutions to extend the life of medical equipment for healthcare customers and their equipment repair providers. A blend of OEM quality and ISO flexibility, Alpha Source had its origin as a manufacturer of OEM quality medical battery packs, and distribution of over 60,000 SKUs of biomed parts, supplies and accessories. In 2017, Alpha Source acquired BC Technical, an imaging service provider with expertise in all major OEM medical imaging systems, and Medical Optics, a scope repair company located in south Florida. The company is headquartered in Milwaukee, Wis., and owned by private equity sponsor, Baird Capital. Together, these companies now form the Alpha Source Group, and deliver solutions across the repair and maintenance spectrum.
